Multi-talented and extremely creative are two words that could easily be used to describe the MC, producer, songwriter, video director, web and graphic designer Josh Cyrus (JC.) Born in the Caribbean island of Trinidad on the 30th of November 1988, and nurtured on a balanced diet of Hip Hop, RnB, Soca, Calypso, and Reggae, JC is set to be a new vibrant addition to a breed of artists (Charlie Sloth, Solja boy) who have recently taken the internet by storm. Growing up in Trinidad, JC always had an interest in writing lyrics and dancing, but it was only when listening to a cassette tape of Eminem’s ‘Slim shady E.P.’ aged just seven years old, did the youngster become inspired to concentrate solely on writing lyrics as a rapper. After relocating to England, Josh gained access to technology unavailable to him in his motherland. His passion for music, creativity and DIY mentality, resulted in him building an enormous interest and knowledge, learning quickly how to produce music, record, mix and master vocals, design websites, shoot and edit music videos and design graphics, thus enabling him to present his own multi-media projects at a professional level. During the time of his creative evolution JC released his first CD mixtape release ‘Green Reaper Mixtape Volume 1’ in 2010, which secured his place as one of Slough’s most talented future stars, kick-starting his growing buzz, and reputation as a multi-dimensional, entertaining artist, both on stage and online. Taking a charge of every aspect of his career from the offset, JC has managed to secure PA’s at events such as; Reading and Leicester carnivals, Liquid (Windsor) amongst various other nightclubs, that now have his debut single ‘To-da floor’ (August 2010) on heavy rotation on their playlists, in and around Berkshire. His growing reputation as a renaissance man has had him sought out for collaborative work as a producer, video director and rapper by many other talented underground artists such as Byron (Nine High) and Beluga Ice. JC is now working on building up his fan base while crafting material for his debut album. In true JC style, stretching his creativity to the limit, he plans to accompany his first album with a self written musical. With such a wide range of influences and talents it is virtually impossible to decipher what to expect from JC’s future projects, but you can be assured, that when delivered, it will undoubtedly be cutting edge, entertaining and memorable, a perfect reflection of himself.
